Waverly Mansion Wedding

Harrison, the best man, stood up recounting all the funny stories that had been shared the night before of all the times that Alysia had been pushed, and knocked over by her male family members. Each time finishing his story with “but if Costin had been there, he would’ve picked her back up. When Costin loves, he loves. He’s fully in. Fully committed.” Alysia spoke of his true honest nature, “the person I see behind closed doors is the person, the world sees”. Alysia’s father got up and spoke, he told his own stories, stories that put tears in everyone’s eyes, stories that captured who Alysia was as a child and who she is today. Then he spoke of who they are together and his hopes for their future. Costin & Alysia’s Spring Waverly Mansion Wedding was covered in pure love & one crazy awesome party!

Costin is from Romania. A tradition of Romanian culture is that on the wedding day the bride will be “kidnapped” during the reception by some single male friends/family members and taken to a bar. Yes, a bar! All awhile, the groom has to negotiate her return – back when the tradition began it was with goats and cows and such. Now it’s with good quality alcohol. So in true Romanian culture, Alysia was “kidnapped” from the reception (she wasn’t taken to a bar, just upstairs and hidden away) and Costin and his best man had to negotiate her return. She was safely negotiated for and everyone enjoyed quite a few good laughs!
