We arrived back to the Barn. It’s a literal barn that my in-laws have renovated into their home here on the 78 acres the hubby grew up on. We arrived back to the barn, the hubby and Jack were there with my mother-in-law, father-in-law and Klive, my nephew. The hubby asked the two of us about how Brenda’s Orwigsburg Maternity Portraits went, to which Brenda responded, “Meg made me a supermodel!” I remember the night I met Brenda. It was 8 years ago, on my first trip to Orwigsburg to meet the hubby’s family. We were just dating at the time but I knew then he was it. So meeting his family was a pretty important step and Brenda was his only sister-in-law at the time. The hubby’s one of three with an older brother and a younger brother. Meeting his sister-in-law felt like a big intimidating factor. I got past meeting his mom but there’s something about the sister factor thats intimidating. We arrived at their home in town and the hubby and Kyle left Brenda and I at the house while they went and picked up food. Brenda offered up some wine, of course I accepted and I’m pretty sure my nerves let me drink a little too much. But yet, she was easy and comfortable. Brenda has this warm, welcoming personality that has allowed her yoga business in a small town to thrive. And more importantly lend her to being an incredible mama to Klive.

The road to “Apple Gundy” as Klive in his four year old brain has affectionately named our sweet little girl, was a long difficult road. A road full of heartbreak, frustration and alot of needles. Which has just made awaiting her arrival, which should be any day now, even more sweeter! Brenda and I adventured out onto the family property to capture this season in her and “Apple’s” story. As Brenda said, with Klive she didn’t really have the desire for the maternity portraits, knowing the gender and decorating a nursery and going all out. But this second pregnancy has been different. In so many ways. We had a blast with these portraits of Brenda and I am so proud of those they came out. They truly capture Brenda’s personality and really document this incredibly special moment!

Brenda, thank you for asking me to capture these for you. Thank you for being such an incredible sister-in-law and for always cheering me on. I am so blessed to have you in my life! Klive, thank you for jumping in these portraits bud! For that one minute you were in there, you rocked it! You just ran right in there, posed without me asking or directing you and created such a sweet little moment with your mama! Apple Gundy, sweet girl, it’s time to come into the world now. We are all so beyond ready to meet you and see that sweet beautiful face of yours!
