Billy and I went to high school together–we were actually pretty good friends. He’s seriously the biggest sweetheart ever. When he messaged me a few months ago about shooting his wedding, I was so excited to connect with him again. After we met to go over packages and such, I remembered how truly awesome and sweet he really is and how much I missed him! Then I got to meet Katie, I mean wow! Talk about the definition of a down-to-earth, sweetie pie. I love her! So basically what I’m trying to say is getting to work with this couple and having the privilege to capture such an important day in their life has truly been a pleasure!! I just love love love them.
Their day was full of emotional moments. I gotta tell you–it is really stinkin hard to shoot when you’re crying. Goodness guys.
It started with Billy recording a video for Katie to watch–so so so honest and just a beautiful display of love. She watched it in the room with all her favorite ladies sitting around her, crying.
The ceremony was beautiful, the reception was amazing. It was hot. But drinks were flowing, people were dancing…it was a perfect day. One I am positive they only look back on with the most amazing memories.
It was 9pm, all the guests had left, the evening was ending, the two love birds danced to their last song–Brad Paisley’s “My New Favorite Memory”–love that song, you have to go listen to it if you haven’t heard it yet. They finished up their dance, I shut my camera off, broke everything down, we said our goodbyes with hugs and talk to you laters and then…
The Best Man said, “Billy, I know the night has ended but we just have to play this one last song.”
Billy’s older brother tragically passed away back when we were in high school. The two of them were very close and so to not have him at his wedding must’ve been a hard thing to take in a day full of emotion.
Luke Bryan’s “Drink A Beer” began to play and immediately anyone left in the room, swarmed around Billy in one massive hug, while everyone cried, sang the song at the top of their lungs and held their beers in the air. It was a perfect way to honor his brother and bring him into the day. Again, I’m serious guys…it is so difficult to see through the viewfinder of a camera when you’re balling your eyes out. But these are the moments that mean so much more than just the flowers and the details. These are the moments that make this passion so important to me–why I love this business.
Congrats guys!! I love you both! Thanks for asking me to be apart of your day 😀
