I have a few goals this year for business. One of those being to blog more. To be a resource for you my awesome clients. To help in wedding planning, in planning your family shoots. To be a resource to other business owners. This was a plan last year but I didn’t take the necessary steps to make it a reality. So this year, I knew I needed to change my process. I needed to schedule and blog ahead of time. I needed a blog post planning plan!
I got this awesome organizer from Colorvale. Its actually really awesome. Calendars, to-do lists, day to day planners, client organization. A great resource and a way to keep track of things. Even though it has calendars in it, I decided to print some calendars out, that way I could be on my idea’s list page and also put those ideas out on the calendar without the constantly flipping.
I’ve spent the past couple weeks trying to think of ideas – things I had questions about when wedding planning, business questions I’ve had and have learned about, general ideas that I can expand upon. All those ideas have gone here. Using the lists & calendars, I figured out if certain posts made sense of certain dates (ex. Friday Introductions – posts introducing myself, Wedding related posts on Wedding Wednesdays). This really helped in scheduling without getting totally overwhelming.
I obviously know that I needed to leave open dates so that I can post shoots. So I made sure to only plan posts every other day or so. February is a little bit more spread out as I’m trying to get myself into the swing and practice of blogging things other than shoots. Having less ideas this month is less overwhelming as I start – giving me a better chance to be successful.
So make sure to head back often to see what the latest goings on and bits of advice are 🙂 And of course, if you have any questions or want to know or hear about anything, I’m all ears! I want to hear your questions so that I can answer them!
