WinniE’s Bakery is not only a company based on scrumptious desserts but a company based and built by a woman of humble kindness whose goal in life is to provide as much light to the dark areas as possible. As her friend, she’s a professional providing that light! So when she found an opportunity to volunteer her time, talent and yumminess to help put food on the table for children within our own neighborhoods who experience hunger on a daily basis, she was all in! She’s gone with No Kid Hungry to Congress to advocate for more funding and more programs. Now, she’s provided dessert for DC No Kid Hungry Dinner Event that took place on June 13th at Dock 5 at Union Market. Elise, along with 16 other chefs provided their time, talent and supplies so that every cent raised at the fundraiser could go toward putting meals on the tables for these kids. Elise asked me to tag along to grab some photos for her & I’m so glad I was able to be there. Such an incredible event to be apart of!

We had sometime to kill before dessert service – so we grabbed some new portraits of Elise!

One of the other dessert providers was, Tiffany McIssac, owner of Buttercream Bakeshop. How cute are these cakesicles!

Elise’s brother, David, came along to assist Elise in plating and service! Such a good brother!!

The third dessert chef was Aja Cage of Ris. Her strawberry tarts were incredible!!

Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies (the best I have ever had and they don’t taste gluten free at all!!) with her brown sugar ice cream & her tequila watermelon granita with coconut cream and lime zest. I’m drooling just thinking about these!!
