I always tell my client for their first look, after they’ve seen each other to take some time and connect and chat. They can take as much time as they want during their first look. I will never step in and move them along. If they want to take thirty minutes to themselves on their wedding day, do it! Take it and enjoy it. We’ll catch up and make up that time in other spots on the day. Your wedding day is so rushed and so many things are happening and as a result you barely get to spend any time really being together on the most important day in your relationship. So if you can get that time during the first look, I’m going to give it to you. Most couples spend ten minutes connecting and then are so excited and ready to move onto the next thing. Alexis and Trey had different plans for their early fall wedding at Turf Valley. These two took a good twenty, maybe even the full thirty minutes. They just stood and talked and were present with each other on their wedding day. They relieved a lot of stress for each other and really enjoyed the advantage of the first look. We had built enough time in their timeline that we didn’t need to make up any time later. In fact, we had built their timeline so perfectly that they were finished with all portraits – bridal party portraits, family formals and couple portraits a good forty-five minutes before the ceremony started.
At the reception, Trey’s best man stood up. He spoke about how comfortable Trey and Alexis are together. A true testament to their relationship that has been built over the last eight years. It’s something I can see even after only being with them for a short period of time. They calm and reset each other. They laugh and enjoy each other. They are truly meant to be!
Congratulations Alexis and Trey! It was a perfect day!
