I met Jessica, Rob and Timmy (the 7 month old lab/shepherd mix) at Federal Hill Park, they were all photo ready for their engagement portraits at Federal Hill!! If you know me (Sam) or have read my bio, you know I’m ready for all the dogs at your engagement session… especially when you put a bow tie on them! Also, thank goodness for Jeff (a friend of Jess and Rob), who showed up to handle Timmy while he wasn’t in photos. Jeff was an excellent dog handler and branch retriever for ring shots!

We were greeted with warm shining sun and a cold winter breeze all at the same time, which meant extra snuggling for Jess and Rob! These two have a playful relationship, I learned that earlier this year when Meghan and I virtually met Jess who told us her proposal story! Rob proposed during a game of “We’re all searching for my friends engagement ring”…. meanwhile it was Jess’s engagement ring and Rob was proposing! Let me explain that a little bit, Rob put together this entire story about a friend of theirs whose engagement ring “went missing”. The friend collected a task force of friends to help her search for said ring. So while Jess is scrambling around Federal Hill attempting to find this ring, she turns around to find Rob on one knee after saying, “I found it!” Except, Jess didn’t quite catch on to what was happening. It took a minute but once it settled in, that Rob wasn’t holding their friends ring, and instead it was hers, things got a little emotional. Such an exciting and unique engagement story which made even more sense once I met them! They don’t do serious or soft smiles (without being prompted), so we ended up playing a game of “freeze and snuggle”. Never done that before but now I think it’s a must.

It was a blast to meet Jess, Rob, Timmy and Jeff. Can’t wait for your October wedding next year at Big Cork Vineyards! It’s going to be a good one! Congratulations again you two and thank you so much for trusting me to capture these for you!
