I so often start my blog posts discussing the weather that was taking place during the shoot from the images I’m about to share. I do so because it sets scene for the story that the couple or family were experiencing while we were together for their shoot and nothing could be more true for their Engagement Portraits in Bethlehem. The forecast all day called for spots of rain up until five o’clock, then it was partly cloudy with spots of sun. As I drove to Bethlehem, I faced an hours worth of downpour rain with the suspicion that their engagement portraits in Bethlehem were going to look a little different than we had planned. Thankfully by the time I arrived in Bethlehem, the rain had stopped and the sun came out. I drove around for a few minutes to find a place to park, pulled into the spot and as I got out of the car, the rain started again. Yet, the sun was shining. For their entire engagement session, it was on and off drizzling rain and sun, until the very end when the heavens kind of opened out. They didn’t open into a full torrential downpour, but it was enough to get you wet. We got to the very last pose in the courtyard of the church. We stood under the big oak tree for cover as it rained around us, I suggested we just wait it out for a few minutes to see if it would slow down and Trevor looked at Allie and said, “what do you think?” She responded, “I’m wet enough already, let’s just do it!” The two of them proceeded to have a romantic dance in the rain for their engagement portraits in Bethlehem.
Allie and Trevor, it was a blast running around Bethlehem in the rain with you, getting to know the two of you and I am very much looking forward to your twenty twenty-four wedding. Thank you so much for coming my way and using your birthday trip for this adventure of engagement portraits in such a beautiful Pennsylvania location.
