I love getting to know my couples. It allows me to dig deeper into their relationship and capture the true essence of their relationship. In turn creating images that they will truly love for a lifetime. Which is why shortly after booking with me, I send over a getting to know you questionnaire. Before Joanne and Lee’s Fall Orwigsburg Engagement Portraits, I sent this questionnaire over to learn more about them and Joanne quickly filled it out. They met me at my home on a cloudy day but boy the leaves we’re showing off their stuff! It was beautiful! Read on through their interview answers to learn more about these two!

How did you guys meet? 

We both swiped right! We connected on “Coffee Meets Bagel” in mid-October of 2016. We “officially” met around Halloween in Clifton, Virginia. Our first date lasted literally all day and we’ve been together ever since!

What was your first impression of your fiance?

My first impression of Lee was that he was super goofy (I wasn’t wrong!), but also incredibly sweet. The first impression I had of Joanne was that she was very family-centric. She was also very direct, and down to earth, and when we first met our conversations flowed as if we had known each other for years.

Tell me the proposal story. 

Family friends of my family own a winery in Amissville, VA. Over the last few years, we’ve been able to help them harvest, take part in their events, and were able to use the area as an outdoor meet-up with friends during the middle of the pandemic. Every year they hold a Valentine & Chocolate/Wine Tasting. Since we weren’t able to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year (we both got food poisoning!) Lee told me that we were going out the following weekend to celebrate! He was able to get both of my parents, his mom, and one of our mutual friends out there without me knowing!
