Years ago, back when I was in my sophomore year in college – I had booked my very first wedding. I had no idea what I was doing and was so nervous. At that same time, one of the interns that my mom was working with at the elementary school was in the middle of planning her wedding and was sharing all the details with my mom. One of those details was her wedding photographer. My mom then sent this photographers website to me to check out. As I sat exploring her website, reading her “about me” section-falling in love with her work and even more so with the person behind the business, I was immediately inspired. Without thinking, I sent her a message, telling her about my first wedding in the coming fall and how I was nervous and did she have any advice for a new photographer. Well, I’m pretty sure-no I’m positive- God placed her in my life for a reason, I’m positive that He was the one that laid it on my heart to go so far outside of my box and send her a message. She emailed me back and not only did she offer advice, but she offered to mentor me for the summer!! She was my first experience with #bossladies and boy was it an incredible experience. I learned more from her in that summer than I had in years of photography classes. Shortly after that summer she moved from Baltimore to Pittsburg(where her heart really lives – silly Steeler’s fan 😉 ) and we haven’t seen each other since that summer. I still follow her religiously, look up to her immensely and dream of owning a business as successful as hers some day.
So who is this amazing photographer/woman and why am I telling you all of this…well, I had the crazy awesome opportunity to second shoot for Meaghan of Meaghan Elliott Photography a few weeks ago! She was back in Baltimore shooting a wedding and needed someone for just a few short hours to shoot all of the details at the reception site. And when I say all of the details – I mean I shot close to 1,000 images JUST of details!!!
The reception was held at the Frederick Douglass Maritime Museum in Fell’s Point.
The wedding was planned, designed and coordinated by the INCREDIBLE girls at Lemon & Lime Event Design – seriously if you’re looking for a planner, these are your girls!! They did an absolutely stunning job!
If you want to see the full wedding, head on over to Meaghan‘s blog for her TWO posts about Jess & Doug’s day.
Thanks again Meaghan for having me along!! It was such a pleasure and privilege to work with you again! Can’t wait for next time 🙂
Also, a big huge CONGRATS to the bride & groom – Jess & Doug!
Without further ado – I give you images from the day…
A little sitting area on the dock!
The “welcome” bags – I think the bag of Hubbies Peanuts is adorable! Seriously, what a cute idea for a wedding.
The welcome table! Details galore!
Cards for the guests to sign and give advice to the newlyweds 🙂
On the cocktail tables out on the pier, they had these little bowls with goldfish in them! How awesome!
Not a single detail was overlooked.
I’m in love with all the flowers! Every single one is prettier than the last.
As you can see, each table was completely different.
No detail ignored – even a charging station!
Just simply stunning.
The cake was a Smith Island Cake – oh boy do I love those 🙂
The hor d’oeuvres looked scrumptious!
How cute are the straws…
The tent all lit for the evening – I love these different kinds of lighting options!
Jess & Doug wanted to stick with their very nautical theme and decided to arrive to their reception in some serious style – they arrived by Sailboat!
The beautiful bride & her brand new handsome hubby getting off of the boat being greeted by their guests!
Seriously, she’s stunning. And her dress- oh my gosh I’m in love with it!!!
Congrats again guys!!
