Grings Mills Engagement Portraits: Linsey & Dan’s Love Story Comes Full Circle

Grings Mills engagement portraits are always beautiful, but Linsey and Dan’s session in Reading, Pennsylvania, was extra special. This location holds deep significance for them—it’s where they had planned to get engaged, making it the perfect place to capture their love story leading up to their wedding day.

Linsey and Dan’s journey began in 2021 when they matched on Bumble. Even though they had lived just 25 minutes apart their whole lives, frequented the same places, and shared many of the same interests, their paths had never crossed—until fate (and a dating app) brought them together. Their connection sparked instantly on Thanksgiving Day, and by December 11, they met in person for their first date at Austin’s Restaurant in West Lawn, PA. From that night on, they were inseparable.

Fast forward to June 24, 2023, when Dan planned the perfect proposal. He wanted to recreate their first date—starting with a delicious meal at Austin’s, followed by a walk at Grings Mill. His original plan was to propose at the scenic park, but the trails were bustling with bikers and walkers that evening. Remembering their conversation about wanting a more private, intimate engagement, Dan pivoted. After their walk, he led Linsey back to his apartment, where he got down on one knee and asked her to be his forever.

When it came time for their engagement session, there was no better place than Grings Mill—a location that had already become such a meaningful part of their story. The historic stone bridge, winding trails, and peaceful waters of the Tulpehocken Creek provided the perfect romantic backdrop. On a crisp autumn day, Linsey and Dan walked hand in hand, laughing and reminiscing about their first date and the moment they knew they had found something truly special.

The natural beauty of Grings Mill enhanced the emotion in every shot. The golden sunlight filtering through the trees added warmth to their portraits, while the historic charm of the mill and the gentle ripples of the creek created a timeless setting for their love story.
