“In the military, there are a lot of ceremonies. It’s something we take pride in.” They had just finished dinner in the dining room before the DJ, per Derek’s request, asked the guests to make their way into the atrium at their Historic Inns of Annapolis wedding. Derek and Natalie stood in front of the brick wall, champagne in hand, as Derek addressed their favorite people. The one hundred plus guests stood in a semi-circle around them listening intently. “While the ceremonies are to celebrate the member being promoted and their accomplishments, the ceremonies are really for the people that have supported that person throughout their military career ,the family and friends of that new Captain or so. Natalie and I so thankful you are all here with us today. This ceremony was about us and celebrating this new title we’re taking on together. However, this ceremony was just as much about you all. Natalie and I wouldn’t be who we are today without each of your support. So this toast is for you.”

Natalie and Derek, I am beyond excited for the two of you as you begin this new adventure and get promoted! Nat, I am so thankful for your friendship throughout the years and even more excited and appreciative that you not only knew I would be your wedding photographer someday but then when that day came, you made it happen. Being there to capture this day for you meant so much! Congratulations loves!! Have an incredible time out West and here’s to one hell of a marriage!! May you two be blessed with joy beyond your wildest dreams!
