Welcoming Lorelei – An In-Home Newborn Session in Littlestown, PA

There’s nothing more special than getting to follow a family’s story from one season to the next, and the Pfaff family holds such a dear place in my heart. After capturing their Littlestown maternity portraits earlier in the spring, it was such a joy to return to their home to document the long-awaited arrival of their baby girl, Lorelei.

A Joyful Homecoming After a Long Journey:
Lorelei made her entrance into the world a few weeks earlier than expected, and with that came a difficult and emotional time spent in the NICU. It’s the kind of chapter no parent is truly prepared for—one filled with worry, waiting, and deep, breath-holding prayers. But this story, thankfully, ends with answered prayers. Lorelei grew stronger each day and eventually came home to the cozy farmhouse her family had been preparing for her.

Capturing her newborn portraits in that very home, surrounded by so much love, made this session all the more meaningful. Julianna and Jerad, already incredible parents to their son, held Lorelei close with a quiet reverence and overwhelming gratitude for this moment finally unfolding.

A Peaceful Morning in Littlestown:
The session took place on a peaceful morning in Littlestown, inside the walls of a home that has now witnessed first-time parenthood, and the beautiful chaos of life with two little ones. Lorelei was calm and content, swaddled gently in soft, neutral fabrics as the early light filled each corner of their home.

Her big brother proudly peeked in on her throughout the session—already stepping into his new role with curiosity and affection. We kept the session relaxed and simple, letting their everyday rhythm guide us. The best in-home newborn sessions feel like a soft pause in time, a moment to take it all in—and this one was exactly that.

The Beauty of In-Home Newborn Portraits:
Just like their Littlestown maternity portraits, this session reminded me why I love in-home photography so much. There’s a unique intimacy and comfort in being in your own space, especially during the newborn days when everything is so new and tender. We’re not just capturing your baby—we’re capturing your life: the quiet snuggles, the nursery you’ve prepared, the way your older child curls up beside you on the couch while you feed your newborn.

For the Pfaffs, this home holds the memories of every chapter in their love story—and now, it holds the beginning of Lorelei’s, too.

Lorelei is now over a year old and thriving, and it’s such a joy to look back on these early portraits and remember how far she’s come. From the unexpected start of her story to the peaceful morning spent photographing her at home, every image feels like a reminder of resilience, love, and the beauty of answered prayers.

If you’re expecting and thinking about documenting this season with in-home newborn portraits in Littlestown, I’d love to be there to help you preserve the start of your baby’s story—whatever shape that story may take.
