In November 2020, Heather decided to try the Hinge app for the first time and matched with Andy a few weeks later. In December 2020, Andy returned to Philadelphia after spending most of the year in Alaska for work and hopped back on the app. Andy reached out to Heather with a very unique message, “Your profile is deliciously weird and I love it.” Andy was struck by how authentic and approachable Heather seemed based on her profile that listed interests such as Shakespeare’s sonnets and cooking unusual foods. Heather was humored and decided to give him a chance. We had a FaceTime call and arranged our first date for January 6, 2021 at the ice skating rink at Dilworth Park. Heather and Andy were married in a late Summer Wedding at The Lodges at Gettysburg. Despite it being an August day, it did NOT feel like August. The weather was a perfect 70 degrees with a slight breeze. It was on trend with their wedding, meaning that, Andy and Heather didn’t stick to all the traditions and instead made their wedding day their own. Heather had her brothers as her Men of Honor, Andy’s sister was a grooms-lady, Heather walked herself down the aisle and danced with her entire family instead of just a father daughter dance. Their wedding day was a beautiful and perfect reflection of exactly who they are as people and as a couple.
