Spring is one of my favorite times of year. The flowers begin to bloom, love is in the air, and we’re one step closer to wedding season! Allison and Dylan’s spring engagement portraits were such a joy to capture. These two are so full of laughter and love, and when we talked about their portraits, I knew just where to have them. I invited them to my private wooded estate for their portraits and it turned out to be the perfect spot. We were able to explore the property together and just let them have fun together.
Before their session, I always ask my couples the proposal story. Allison and Dylan’s was just too cute not to share. It was a Sunday morning and Allison told Dylan she wanted to go to the park to enjoy the beautiful weather. Dylan agreed and just before leaving, Allison fell asleep and took a nap! During that nap Dylan planned their entire proposal. He made sure to call both sides of the family and let them in on his surprise. Once Allison woke up, Dylan told her if she wanted to go to the park they better before it gets too cold. Little did she know what else Dylan had planned. He proposed to her at the most beautiful location in the park. And of course, she said yes!
Allison and Dylan went out to dinner after to celebrate at the very same restaurant they had their first date – Longhorn Steakhouse. Allison was told it would just be the two of them, but lo and behold both sides of the family were there to celebrate. Allison said, “It was so special and thoughtful, I won’t ever forget it.”
