There were some nerves on the days leading up to this The Lodges at Gettysburg Wedding as Hurricane Matthew was forecasted. Would eastern Pennsylvania get hit? And if so by how much? And when? Would it be Saturday or Sunday? As more and more was forecasted it seemed as though Sunday would be spared and would be a bright and sunny day. Boy was the forecast correct! Not only was it that warm soft sun, it was also the first day that really felt like fall! There was a crispness in the air that matches The Lodges at Gettysburg perfectly. There’s something about this venue that lends itself perfectly to a fall wedding. So much of this The Lodges at Gettysburg Wedding was so meaningful to me personally. First off, I was married at The Lodges in Gettysburg two years ago(click the link to see my wedding photos)!!  So to be back was a real treat with a few moments of flash backs. Second off, Jessica is a childhood friend, so to be able to be there for her on the happiest day of her life and to be given the honor of capturing it for her really meant a lot. Jess and I grew up together at church, we met probably 15-18 years ago! We attended Sunday School together, confirmation, we went on youth retreats and lock-ins together. Life moved on, we went to different schools, we left the church and started attending a new one and Jess and I grew apart. We of course remained friends on Facebook and so when she got engaged and had seen my wedding photos she knew she had to be married where I was married. One conversation led to another which ended in she and Corey hiring me to photograph their wedding. Throughout the process, we’ve reconnected and I feel closer to her now than I did growing up! To see this childhood friend get married to one of the sweetest and goofiest men who perfectly matches her personality and adores every little piece of her was truly special.
