We all want those reception photos that really tell the story of your party! Not just here are some photos of people dancing. No, you want people to look at your wedding photos and think “man, I missed one amazing party!!” So what’s one way you can ensure that happens? You might be thinking, well, of course, the DJ or the band I hire. Yes, totally true! But there’s also a key piece you’re probably not thinking about and it’s usually one of the details that couples get rid of right off the bat to save some cash.

So what’s the One Trick to Get The Best Reception Photos??

UPLIGHTING and or asking your DJ to bring their “rainbow light” (DJ’s is that the correct terminology?!)

That’s right. By simply adding this little detail on to your DJ package, your wedding reception images will be improved immensely. The uplighting creates dimension in the photos and allows the party to really pop against what is normally just white walls. The uplighting and rainbow lights create a feeling of a good time, of a party! Just a really simple detail but one I thought I would share some thoughts on.

Below are images from Mike & Lauren’s Ceresville Mansion Wedding. Mike and Lauren used purple uplighting to help make their party even more of a party! Or a club as they wanted their reception to feel like.

Below are a few pictures from Sally & Kevin’s Torpedo Factory Wedding. Sally and Kevin used rainbow lights to help create the feeling at their reception. They also rented some canopy lights which added to the dimensional look of the images.
