Matt paced around the gazebo. He grasped a velvet black box. Inside was a cushion cut diamond ring. The grin stuck to his face was a mix of pure excited joy and absolute nerves. Matt’s original vision was to pop the question on the steps of the barn porch at Springfield Manor. However, when they arrived, at the Winery for their Springfield Manor Proposal, Matt discovered it was so much busier than he anticipated and as a result the steps and surrounding porches were packed to the brim. He asked the staff if they had any other options, the gazebo was roped off for him to use when he was ready. As he stood in the gazebo waiting for the staff to bring Christina over, all he could say was  “I really hope she says yes.” For me, having known these two for the past five years, I would’ve been knocked to the ground (physically) if Christina said no.

She approached the gazebo to see Matt already down on one knee. Ring box open and ready for her. There was no question what was happening. Actually if you ask Christina, she already knew. In fact, she had text her best friend earlier in the day “I’m getting engaged today.” But now, it was a reality. It was here! It was happening. She quietly stepped into the gazebo, “Will you marry me?”. Matt couldn’t muster anything else to say out of his nerves. As she pulled off her promise ring, she ecstatically said yes!

We spent the next hour or so, wandering around the Vineyard for their Springfield Manor Proposal capturing this moment in their love story. They popped champagne that was gifted to them by Springfield. Christina even had an outfit change. Apparently, she had found this white floral dress, bought it without trying it on and told Matt, “This is the dress I want to get engaged in.” Matt knew obviously he couldn’t tell her to wear that dress to their date at the Winery, that would give it away. So instead, he packed the dress and a pair of heels into the truck for her to change into after he proposed.

Matt and Christina, I am so ecstatic for the two of you and am so glad I no longer have to ask Nick, when do you think Matt is going to propose!? Matt, thank you for asking me to be there! To capture it and for trusting me to do so. Christina, my dear! Congratulations!! You are a lucky girl, not that I need to tell you that!
