We almost cancelled their Wilkes-Barre Family Portraits. The forecast wasn’t promising. The rain outside only confirmed the forecast. But they decided they wanted to risk it. So I met the Gahman family at their Poconos Mountain cabin to help them finish off their vacation with some much needed extended family portraits. The kids purchased the session as a birthday gift for their mom. Something, I could easily tell she was incredibly excited and so very thankful for. Most of the time, once the kids are older than elementary school, the yearly photos stop. So years and years go by without having real portraits of your family together. Instead it’s just little cell phone, or in my generations case, Polaroid snaps, of moments here and there. To take the time to get dressed up and have professional quality images that tell your families story is so valuable and precious. After connecting with everyone inside and putting my gear together, we headed outside by the lake for a few minutes in between rain storms. The rain held off just long enough to get exactly what we needed and even a few extra breakdowns. We decided to head inside to take another portrait by the fireplace and I kid you not, as I stepped inside the heavens opened!
