Sun filled the nursery as Valerie pulled the curtains back, the sound of ocean waves loudly played. Grayson slowly started to open his eyes. I had just arrived a few short minutes earlier to their home for Grayson’s Elkridge newborn portraits. I was greeted by his parents and grandparents. While Nana got Bryce up and ready after his nap. I spent time capturing Grayson’s portraits and then some with his parents, Valerie and Jesse. Grayson definitely enjoyed being snuggled and even more so enjoyed sometime lounging on the floor un-swaddled. Soon Bryce, Grayson’s two and a half year old brother, joined us. He had finished spending time with Nana, eating Goldfish and reading one of his favorite books. It’s always fun adding a toddler to a newborn portrait session, or really any session at that. Being a toddler mama myself, I genuinely LOVE the toddler conversation, bribery, distraction techniques involved to capture some incredibly sweet moments between these two siblings and their parents. We had a wonderful afternoon session with lots of snuggles, a few attempted kisses and lots of talks about “where’s Grayson’s toes?”

Valerie and Jesse, thank you so much for welcoming me into your home and being so flexible with dates. Thank you for reaching out and asking me to document your new expanded family. I had a blast spending the afternoon with you four. Bryce, you were awesome little dude! Thank you for sharing your toys with me and Grayson. Thank you for listening and snuggling your little brother. Congratulations to all of you on the addition of Grayson, he is such a little charmer.
