For the one and only time Christine was late, since their first date Anthony’s been late for everything and Christine on time. But her being late allowed Christine to get a special look of Anthony. Her first sight of him was as he stood in the rain waiting in for a table at Rose’s. He wore a grey button down shirt, blue jeans and Converse and really great glasses. He had a umbrella large enough for the two of them to fit under, immediately leaving Christine with the feeling of this guy is sweet and kind. Shortly after, her feelings were confirmed when Anthony purchased an appetizer for a couple who was there celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary who they had chatted with in line. As she says, Anthony was “relentlessly charming in the most innocent way.”

When Anthony saw Christine, he was immediately attracted. He knew from her pictures on Hinge that she was pretty, but when she walked up his first thought was “Woah!” Then she began to talk and her intelligence shined, leaving Anthony feeling a little bit more shy than normal. He quickly came to learn that, as he describes it, “she is political and I’m pop culture, two very different people, but she loved to eat, and that’s my favorite kind of person!”

A short time later, Anthony got down on one knee with their closest friends around, favorite snacks, wine and a video of Anthony dancing to a Beyonce song. If you’re interested, you can see the whole thing here.
