The wind blew as the 10 of us stood at the corner of the Howard County Courthouse. Maeve and Kevin stood in the round while the Judge presided over their elopement. You could see the joy strike across Maeve’s eyes. Despite the blue disposable mask, you knew there was a huge smile next to those lit up eyes, as the Judge announced them husband and wife. “You may kiss your bride!” The two of them whipped off their masks with such joy and elation and leaned in for a kiss. Maeve and Kevin were supposed to have been married in June of 2020 at Maeve’s parents home in Ellicott City. We had the date set and planned and we were all very excited for it, but of course as the story goes this year, Covid had other plans. We rescheduled for June 2021 and that was that. Of course, that was until Maeve emailed me and said they were going to be in town (she and Kevin live in California) and while they were, they planned to have an Howard County Courthouse Elopement. “Are you available?!” Fortunately, thank goodness, I was!
Maeve and Kevin, Congratulations! It was so wonderful finally meeting in person and on such a fun and exciting day for it too! Thank you for asking me to not only capture your wedding but your elopement too. Now I really can’t wait for the party in 2021!
