The warm sun set over the rolling hills of virginia. Soft oranges, yellows and a touch of pink filled the skies. It was quiet. The vineyards hosted only 10 people. 7 of whom weren’t close by. It was only Rita, Phil and Angel on the hill overlooking the grape filled vines. Angels job, was to capture this moment. A moment that Rita & Phil were in just the two of them. It was as if Angel wasn’t even there. Rita & Phil stood holding hands. Fingers interlocked. Heads bowed and close together. They had just been married only 45 minutes before in a small intimate ceremony at Breaux Vineyards. Now they stood praying. Just the two of them. For them, this is exactly how their marriage was to start. Together in prayer. Just the two of them standing in Gods creation. Despite their original weddings plans being ripped apart due to Covid, they embraced their Breaux Vineyards Wedding Elopement and celebrated with their moms and siblings.

They captured it on film and video. They zoomed it to all their guests. While they didn’t get to have the full reception, they still cut the cake, laughed and cried at the toasts and got to visit with their guests on zoom. The day was quiet, sweet and full of emotion. Exactly how a wedding day should be.

Rita & Phil, congratulations you two! I’m so sorry that plans didn’t go as scheduled and originally planned. You both handled all the Covid related and unrelated Covid changes thrown at you with such grace and understanding. Despite the craziness, I’m sure you both still loved how the day went. Knowing you two, you were just so ready to be married and celebrate that marriage. So I am so glad you are finally able to relish in that!
