I’m the oldest of three. After me is my sister, Kayleigh, we’re two years apart.
When we were growing up, all we ever wanted, all we prayed for- was a little brother.
Mom and Dad tell the story that they came to us one night and asked, “If you could have anything three things in the world, what would they be?”
Our list:
1. Baby Brother
2. Dog
3. A Van (why a van…who knows, but apparently we wanted one)
So at ages 7 & 9, we were told that we were getting one of our wishes! We were getting a baby! They didn’t know if it was a girl or boy but we we’re getting a baby! And sure enough, it was a boy! Our wishes and prayers had been answered!
Well, fast forward 16 years now- I have watched my little brother grow up in a way most siblings don’t get to. I’m seeing him turn into a man – so on Saturday night when I met him and his friends by Lake Kittamaqundi and he walked toward me all dressed up in his tux–I’m not going to lie I had a moment.
I mean look at the kid, he’s so handsome! And a heart of pure gold.
Ok ok, it’s just his junior prom and next year when he’s a senior and so very close to graduation, that moment might be a little bit more. But still, it was a little surreal to see this kid all dressed up and ready to be a man.
Alright, I’ll stop being mussy and just share the pictures now.
He’s got a really great girlfriend and some really great friends–you can see that in these pictures.
They’re hilarious!
(they didn’t have their own sunglasses, so they just used the mom’s that we’re there haha)
Photobomb…
