The morning sun hit the marble columns as the air heated up around us and things started to get sticky and sweaty. As we wrapped up their last pose for their Merchant Exchange Building Engagement Portraits, they nailed it with some real genuine effortless laughs, I said, “Well guys, that’s a wrap. You guys totally killed it!” Scott responded, “That’s awesome! I’m really excited. These were so much better, faster and easier than I thought they would be. Thank you so much!” My goal with your engagement portrait session, while it is to provide you with portraits to capture this season in your life, the real goal of your engagement portraits is to build trust between the three of us and learn how you are in front of the camera. So often grooms are not the biggest fans of portrait time on their wedding day and by learning at their engagement session that I am not going to keep you for longer than I  need you and that we can still get quality images in a short period of time allows them to relax and trust me on the wedding day. Trust me to give me fifteen to twenty minutes and I will release them to go enjoy the rest of the day and you both know that those images that we captured on the most important day of your life are going to be quality, effortless moments from your day.

Holly and Scott, thank you so much for getting up at four o’clock in the morning last summer to meet me for your Merchant Exchange Building Engagement Portraits. Thank you for your patience in the midst of all the reschedules and weather, it definitely was worth it and thank you for your patience in waiting for this blog post to finally go live pretty much an entire year later! I am really excited to be spending today, your wedding day with you at Wind Creek in Bethlehem! Let’s get you two married!
