A little less than a year ago this girl texts me – she’s looking to have some photos of her dog taken. We went back and forth and could never quite get our schedules to mesh. So we decided to wait until the spring and we’d set up a session.
New years rolls around her then boyfriend got down on one knee and pops the question! So now that session of her dog, became an engagement session. We set up a date for a sunrise shoot in Washington DC…and then the schedule called for rain. And it rained! So of course we rescheduled. Well that happened about four more times…this rainy weather this season has been driving me crazy! Almost every session has been rescheduled because of it.
Finally! We set a date and the forecast didn’t call for rain. So we meet at George Washington University before the sun was up and drove over to the Jefferson Memorial together.
Since Courtney and I have been talking back and forth for about a year, I honestly feel like we’re best friends! 🙂 She’s great and her soon to be hubby is just as great. They are so cute together.
Congrats on the wedding you two! Can’t wait to see pictures – they’re getting married in Tennessee. I know it’s going to be awesome!!
After the memorial, we headed to the Washington Monument! It really is beautiful as sunrise!!
At this point, we we’re going to head to the Lincoln Memorial but due to the insane heat! And I mean insane, we were sweating like crazy! We decided this was far enough. It’s a good thing Courtney & John don’t sweat too much-now if we were photographing me, that would be a different story hahaha.
This shot from the DC War Memorial is my favorite!
Uh…can we talk about Courtney’s ring for a second?! How GORGEOUS is that!!!! The rose gold is amazing!!
After we grabbed the shots of the two of them around DC, we headed back to George Washington University to take some pictures with Clover – the original subject of the shoot.
We shot at George Washington because that’s where John & Courtney met. They both work at the University in administrative type roles and had to work together on a project and just hit it off and have never looked back – well once they finished the project and weren’t working together anymore, then they decided to never look back haha.
She is so stinkin adorable!!
