On June 8th, very early in the morning my Grandpa passed away. After years of fighting colon cancer, he lost his battle. He was an INCREDIBLE man to say the least! He was technically my “step grandfather”, he was my mom’s stepfather. However, he never acted or behaved as a “step”. He was never distant. He never felt like he wasn’t blood. He was my Grandpa Bob. He married my Grammy when my mom was about 15, so I don’t know life without him.
He would have been 89 this year. Months ago we put his birthday celebrations on the calendar and so after his death, we all decided that we had to still celebrate. So that we did! His was an avid sailer. He and Grammy sailed for years. One of their favorite spots to stop was in North East, Maryland. They would always go to Woody’s Crab House. So in his honor, we headed there to celebrate.
It was an awesome afternoon with my family. I might be biased, but they’re pretty darn awesome!!
My cousin Ashleigh & her boyfriend, Joe.
My sister Kayleigh & her boyfriend, Mitch.
Aunt Robin & Uncle Rich!
My brother Ian & cousin Andrew.
My awesome parents!!!
Aunt Deb & Uncle Mike!
Me and one of my most favorite people on this planet, my Grammy!!! Seriously, you guys have no idea how amazing of a woman she is! I pray that if I have to grieve the death of my husband (100 some years from now) , that I am as strong, beautiful and open about the process as this woman right here. She is just amazing! I am so beyond lucky to be her granddaughter.
Kayleigh & Grammy 🙂
The granddaughters with their very hip Gram! Check out her brand new glasses, she is in love with them! 🙂
It was so awesome that out of all the tables in the restaurant our table was right next to the only wall in the entire restaurant that gave any nod to sailing! Grandpa was with us 🙂
My handsome, awesome, sweet & always hilarious hubby!!
The whole gang! 😀 Getting this shot was quite an adventure.
