“You’ve never made me question your love for me, not once. You have showed me unconditional love and taught me what it means to feel at home in a relationship. And while one lifetime with you is not enough, I promise to never take for granted the way it feels to be loved by you.” Monica and Brendan sat near the alter. Monica’s timeless off white Justin Alexander wedding dress flowed down the stairs. It was a classic wedding portrait. Brendan sat holding Monica’s hands in his lap. He listened to Father Jack read the letter Monica had wrote to him. There wasn’t a dry eye in the entire church. Even Brendan, the man Monica knew wouldn’t cry for their first look or when she walked down the aisle, was holding back tears. Monica and Brendan’s Baltimore Country Club Wedding was full of some wild and crazy moments that featured their large bridal party, a group of friends that were once their own and have now over the last eight years become a huge group together. Yet, in the midst of the party their friends brought, these two made sure to find the moments to be fully present with each other. To soak up every ounce of appreciation and love for each other. To revel in the beauty of their wedding day, despite the plans completely changing. In fact, they and their guests are excited that now they get to celebrate not just one wedding day but two!

From the moment Sam and I stepped out of Sam’s Toyota Four Runner at Brendan’s parents home where everyone was getting ready to the moment we climbed back into her car to head home eight hours later, the two of us kept remarking how gorgeous of a day it was. How stunning the details were. How gorgeous the locations were. How absolutely perfect the weather was. But even more so, how sweet and timeless of a couple Monica and Brendan are. For me, these two hit all the boxes for dream couple for me to work with. I’m so excited to work with them again in 2021 for their next party! The silver lining of Covid I guess you could say.

Monica and Brendan, I know you both wish we could rewind this past week and go back to Saturday. I’ll be honest, I agree with you and I was just the photographer. But I’m so excited for you both as you embark on this adventure of marriage. It’s not always going to be easy, I think you both already know that. But boy, it is so incredibly worth all the tough hard moments when you don’t like each other. Marriage is exactly what you commented in your letter to Brendan, Monica. “They say a perfect marriage is just two imperfect people who refuse to give up on each other, I know I am not perfect but I will love you perfectly,  I will never let you down or give up on you, I will cherish you forever.” Hold onto this thought and remember the feeling of Saturday and you two will have a lifetime of joy. Congratulations my loves! Thank you again for having me along and asking me to be there to capture all the moments. The value of that is something I take very seriously! Welcome to the married couple’s club, we’re glad to have you!
