The room was purple. The warm sun streamed in through the two windows. Sophia’s hair was pinned up with a floral hair piece, adorned with a gold broach. A broach that was her Memaw’s. She stepped into her dress. A silk lace and beaded embellished wedding dress. We stood in her childhood bedroom. Her mom zipped up her dress. A dress that 31 years ago, she had worn when she married Sophia’s father. Sophia and Paul’s The Anchor Inn Wedding day was full of heirloom pieces and timeless moments. As Bethel, Sophia’s maid of honor made her final walk down the aisle, Paul’s face became overcome with emotion as he anticipated seeing Sophia. He glanced away and when he glanced back there stood Sophia. Arm in arm with her Dad at the top of the aisle. She flowed down the aisle beaming with joy.

Sophia and Paul went through the ringer. They had quite the Covid wedding planning experience. From cancelled vendors, changed reception locations two weeks before the wedding and having to cut their guest list. A storm all too many couples are familiar with. Sophia and Paul welcomed this moment at the alter with such anticipation and excitement. Spending the day with Sophia and Paul, their family and friends, was a complete blessing and an absolute joy.

Sophia and Paul, congratulations! I hope you absolutely loved your weekend away on your mini-moon. I hope you were able to fully relax and bask in your brand new married-ness. Thank you for asking me to be there to capture it all for you. Thank you for your gracious patience and understanding on the roller coaster of Covid wedding planning. I wish you both the best, a lifetime of complete joy and all the music!
