There were clear instructions included with the invitations, “Wear your favorite team’s jersey.” It completely makes sense, when you’re a huge baseball fan and an even bigger Orioles fan – of course you host your Bar Mitzvah at Camden Yards and encourage your family and friends to show off their team pride. However, the one rule that wasn’t written but is very much understood is that “No Yankees jerseys would be allowed in!” Jonah informed me of this rule about a month before the party when we met for the first time. I’m not sure we were even formally introduced before he made sure I passed that major inspection. Would I want to wear a Yankee’s jersey? Fortunately, I don’t. So all was good – I was allowed to come and shoot his Bar Mitzvah! Every single last detail was planned & executed to the utmost perfection for Jonah’s Camden Yards Bar Mitzvah reception- Debbie did an incredible job!
When Jonah was born – he was named “Jonah Gold”. Little did Debbie & Gary realize, Jonah Gold is also a kind of apple. So when thinking of a favor, Apple Pies were made! A perfect sweet, crisp treat to say thank you for celebrating with us. The apple pies were made by Dangerously Delicious Pies in Baltimore.
Before the party started, the family went out for some Camden Yard portraits. To say we had a blast, would be a little bit of an understatement.
Another favorite of Jonahs is Harry Potter! I mean seriously – who isn’t a fan. You might remember the Kippahs from his Bima pictures.
So this awesome family showed up in their “favorite team’s jerseys”! Yes Qudditch is a real game. And yes, Gryffindor is the right team to route for!
Guests were invited to go out on tours before dinner to explore the park.
Some games & karaoke with DJ Jared from Bialek’s Music.
Debbie hired these awesome guys to come in and put on a little bit of a show and surprise all their guests. They were a hit!
They’re Bottle Dancers – you know dancing with Bottles balancing on their heads. Very impressive!
No Camden Yards party would be complete without The Bird!
Mazel Tov Jonah!! Thanks for having me along! You guys know how to throw one awesome party!
