As the five of us walked from The Willard InterContinental Washington D.C. Hotel toward the DC War Memorial, Kelly and Sean strolled about 10 feet in front of the three of us. It was the first day of summer, June Twenty-first but the weather was forgiving. With a cool breeze, the golden light fell on our path. Kelly and Sean walked along in complete almost wedded bliss. Kelly wore a knee-length white dress with floral heels and Sean in his grey suit and purple tie. They held hands the entire walk, occasionally stopping for a quick sneak of a kiss and laughing the entire way. They looked like a pair of love-struck teenagers on their way to their first date. But instead we were on our way to get them married in a DC War Memorial Elopement ceremony. Their best friend, Eric married the two of them, as Sean’s cousin Meaghan (from Fleurt Beauty Company) watched from the sides and I captured the moments unfold under the dome of the gorgeous DC War Memorial. The sun set behind the tree line across the Memorial Reflecting Pool and people stopped as they walked by to watch as they said their vows. After they were announced as husband and wife, we celebrated with champagne and cupcakes! And finished off their elopement evening with their first dance under the lit up dome of the DC War Memorial. It was a perfect evening for a sweet couple! Congratulations Kelly and Sean!
