When I mentioned to my mom that I was meeting Tessa and Alex for their first family portrait session, she asked is that weird that you photographed their wedding and now you’re photographing them as a family? To which I responded, “No! It’s super exciting. But it is kinda crazy that my business is old enough to be able to do that.” I absolutely love the opportunity to capture your lives well beyond your wedding day. As they grow and change. I love getting to walk and capture that journey with and for you. I met Tessa, Alex and Lily for their Fall Family Portraits at Centennial Park on a somewhat gloomy, rainy Saturday morning. As I drove to the park, I hoped that as I got closer, the sun would push through the thick clouds and it would be drier than what I was driving through. Unfortunately that’s not what we experienced when we got to the park. It was a pretty yucky day! But I’m glad to say that the rain never picked back up and these three were, as expected, super adorable! Lily recently turned one and is a beautiful combination of Tessa and Alex. She was pretty serious for the entire session but enjoyed her stacking cups. Which I was super impressed with her perfect stacking skills. She loved flipping through her peek-a-boo book and talking about cats, even though the book has nothing to do with cats. It’s just her favorite word. Catching up with Tessa and Alex was really nice. The last time I saw them was three years ago for their Conrad’s Ruth Villa Wedding. Obviously I’ve been following along with them on social media, but to see them in person was really great.

Tessa and Alex, thank you so much for asking me to continue to capture all of the important moments in your lives. Thank you for introducing me to your sweet baby girl, Lily. It was so good to see you guys! Can’t wait to see you for the next family session and catch up on all life has blessed you with!
