As the Fitzpatrick family climbed out of their car at Gaver Farms, Matthew was the first out. Dressed in his jeans and plaid button up, Jay took him out of his carseat and Matthew snuggled into Daddy while I said hello. After a minute or so, Jay put him down on the ground. Matthew proceeded to stare me down for a good five minutes, while Katie got Michael and James out of the car. Jay said, “He’s our tough guy.” As he asked Matthew if he was sizing me up. We headed up the hill toward the big christmas trees for their Gaver Farms family portraits, where Katie remarked, “the goal is to get one nice family portrait and one nice shot of each boy.” I’m happy to report that we were successful in both and then some.

We spent their 45 minutes, because let’s be honest 18 month olds don’t last long in chilly temperatures, running around playing with christmas trees. And more importantly, playing with some of the last fallen leaves. Michael was very much into the fall look instead of the christmas tree, christmas look that his mom had envisioned for their christmas family portraits. James’ plan for the shoot was to adventure as much as possible since he’s the big brother and is given a bit more of a free range than the other two. He definitely wanted to test some of those boundaries but when he got a little too far outside of mom and dads comfort and was told to come back, he was quick to listen. During James’ portraits, I asked him who his favorite super hero was and he said “All of them! But especially Captain America!” So I made sure to ask him to pose like Captain America. The Fitzpatrick Gaver Farm family portrait session was graced with an absolutely stunning mid-November morning and working with Gaver Farms to set up their portraits was a breeze.

Thank you guys so much, it was wonderful meeting you all! Thank you for Katie for reaching out and making this happen. You guys were a blast to spend the morning with. I loved running around the christmas trees. It definitely put me into the Christmas spirit! Boys, thank you for being patient, happy and playful. Jay, thank you for rallying the troops and being ready for some family portraits.
