We stood under the white tent. The cool fall sun lit up behind John. Katelynn stood at the opposite side of the tent at the sweetheart table while John addressed their guests. “First of all we want to say thank you to our vendors. To Meghan and Christine, Evan, thank you for being here to capture our day. To Jill, thank you for DJing, and Putting on the Ritz for this scrumptious meal.” It’s honestly my first time in seven years of photographing weddings, where the couple has thanked me publicly during their welcome speech. To me that speaks volumes about the kind of souls of these two. John continued on to thank family, friends and bridal party. As I expected this strong man of Faith, he finished, “I thank God for moving my family all the way from Nigeria to America, to the right state, to the right county, to the right high school, so that I could meet the love of my life.” I looked at Katelynn, to see tears running down her cheeks. Katelynn and John’s Historic Savage Mill Manor Wedding, fell on a beautifully crisp fall morning.
