Andy worked with Jess’ cousin and had received a facebook suggested friends notification for Jess. He joking commented to his coworker (her cousin) about sending her a direct message. After the comment, that idea stuck with him. He bit the bullet and sent her a message. They talked for a little while through messenger. Andy noticed that her profile cover photo was a meme from The Office. Andy went out on a limb and sent her a teapot. If you’re not a fan of The Office, you won’t get that reference, so I’ll fill you in quickly. Early on the relationship of Jim and Pam, two main characters, Jim gave Pam a teapot at the Christmas party. He had filled it with some of her favorite things and included a handwritten note, which we as fans can only assume shared his true feelings for Pam. After receiving this teapot from Andy, Jess decided that she had to take a chance and meet this guy in person. I met Andy and Jess for the first time at the spot where Andy proposed, Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard. One of their favorite activities together is hiking, specifically at Sugarloaf Mountain, so proposing at the Vineyard has a lot of meaning to them.

Despite the incessant gnats swarming around these two, Andy and Jess were incredibly adorable and completely natural with each other in front of the camera. After the winery, we headed for one of the Sugarloaf Mountain overlooks. If you haven’t been there, it is a definite must see. Talk about some gorgeous views. I can definitely see why they love hiking this spot together. We finished up their Sugarloaf Mountain Engagement Portraits and headed down the hill. We passed the most gorgeous sun-kissed field next to a picturesque tree-lined road and there was no way we were going to drive away from that. So we pulled off to the side of the road, jumped out and grabbed a few last minute portraits. Those are now definitely some of my favorites from the entire session.

Andy and Jess, congratulations on your engagement. It was an absolute blast spending the evening with you two! I can not wait for you January The Lodges at Gettysburg Wedding! That’ll be here before we know it! Enjoy the last few months of engagement and I’ll see you two very soon.
