I climbed out of the car and immediately was hit with the smell of crabapples. Sun speckled through the trees. The heat announced itself. Corey and Rachel climbed out of the SUV. Corey in his navy blue button down. Rachel in her white floral dress. We’d only met through FaceTime. It was nice to finally see their real faces for their Piney Run Park Engagement Portraits. This park has special meaning to them. We headed down the Nature Center trail. The breeze blowing through the trees. Just enough to cool us down. We walked and talked. Connecting about life. Connecting about wedding plans. It was a short stroll. Then Corey pointed it out. “There’s the dock.” Pointing to a t shaped dock bobbing in the lake. It was covered in bright warm sun. Lily pads scattered around it. It was the spot they got engaged.
Rachel and Corey, thank you for trusting me! Rachel, for trusting me enough to allow Corey to pick you up and spin you while on a root covered path. Corey, thank you for trusting yourself and me enough to pick the love of your life up and spin her in circles. I hope you two love the resulting images! Thank you both for asking me to be the one to capture this part of your story. One of the biggest parts! Congratulations again on your engagement and here’s hoping that your October wedding will go off without a hitch, also known as Covid shutdowns! All my fingers and toes are crossed while saying all the prayers!
