These Stevenson University Senior Portraits should’ve happened back in March. But Covid. Sam should have finished her senior year attending classes. But Covid. Sam should have walked across the stage in May. But Covid. While her senior year at Stevenson University, didn’t look how she expected it to look. While her graduation doesn’t look how she expected it to look. She still decided to celebrate. One of the ways she decided to celebrate, was with her college senior portraits.
The sun poked through the fog, as I pulled onto Stevenson’s campus and parked in front of the Stadium. Sam requested to meet there first, to grab a portrait with the Mustang. She climbed out of her Ford Explorer with her sandy blonde hair curled, wearing a black knee length dress and heels. It wasn’t the first time, Sam was in front of my camera. A few years ago I captured some just because portraits of her and her boyfriend, Holden. After a few quick portraits with the Mustang, we headed up to where she spent most of her college career, the business building. Where we popped champagne, threw glitter and got in some good laughs.
Sam, my dear, here’s to you! Congratulations on your graduation! I know it definitely hasn’t looked the way you expected, wanted or deserved for it to look. But you are taking it in stride and am so glad to see how proud of yourself you are. You should be!! Thank you for asking me to capture these for you, I do love when you’re in front of my camera. It was a blast spending the morning with you and helping you celebrate this massive milestone. Thank you for trusting me, for being creative and bringing such fun props to use. Hugs my dear!
Oh and Sam brought along her three big brothers for a few quick portraits and also of course, Holden joined in for some. It was a really fun morning!
