Last July, I collaborated with an incredible team of vendors to bring this Industrial Tropics Styled Shoot together and created some inspiration for a Summer Assembly Room Wedding. It was recently published on Love and Lavender’s Blog and so I am so excited to finally get to share the images with you!

When you think of Baltimore, you immediately envision city — full of life, people, and most importantly charm. Baltimore breaks the barrier between industrial and terrain. There are concrete slabs and high-rises all over, but then there’s water and parks to soften the mix. Finding the balance between those two extremes is exactly what we wanted to bring to life with our Industrial Tropics piece.

One of Baltimore’s newest venues, The Assembly Room, was reinvented from an old Baltimore city classic, Bourbon Street. It’s located in the heart of the city, just blocks away from Fells Point and features an industrial warehouse of exposed brick beauty while offering its events the opportunity to create with the space whatever your heart desires.

We chose to bring the balance of classic city charm and scenic views to life byway of Industrial Tropics. Keeping the overall theme dark and moody allowed for us to capture Baltimore in a way it’s naturally seen from an outsider’s perspective. Bringing in the fresh elements of greenery and garden allowed for us to showcase the Baltimore our wedding community knows and loves.

Our inspiration was our city. We started with an old Baltimore staple and brought in organic materials by Petal Pushers to make the space feel homelier and warmer. The contrast between the wooden farm table, gold chargers and ebony finished china complimented the venues natural space. When creating the initial vision Angelica & Co. Weddings found that the beauty of many spaces was in its difference. Recognizing what may be unknown and undiscovered, was where her focus laid. She loved that not everything “matched” and that each individual piece could’ve stood on its own, but all played so well together as one.

As a nod to the venues past life, Bourbon Street, we mixed up some cocktails, poured some wine and cheers these venue’s new beginning! We came together as a vendor team to give a kudos to what once was and embrace the future of what is to come.
