Sam jumped out of their Toyota Four Runner that Shawn had just parked on the upper lot at Centennial Park. Normally we would’ve hugged but being that we’re all still in the midst of this pandemic, we refrained from a greeting so natural for our friendship. She almost immediately said, “I had planned to bring six outfits but then I realized you’d probably hate me. So I refrained and only brought two and some bow changes.” While I wouldn’t and could never hate Sam, I did agree, six outfit changes for these six month portraits at Centennial Park probably would’ve been a little too much. With an eye roll, Shawn also agreed.

Maddie’s big six month accomplishment has been sitting up on her own and eating all the foods. So we celebrated hitting these milestones by sitting her up on a slanted hill (we’re terrible) that was overlooking the lake and swapping out her outfits, bows and her favorite foods and books. If you haven’t been following along on blog posts and instagram, you might not recognize these little family. So let me refresh your memory or just fill you in, Sam is one of my lead associate shooters and second shooters. She’s been with Meghan Elizabeth Photography for about four years now and when she came on back in 2016, she became an immediate friend. Since then, I’ve photographed every major milestone for her and Shawn – engagement portraits, wedding, maternity portraits, baby shower, newborn portraits and now Maddie’s six month portraits.

Sam, Shawn, I love each of you and am so blessed by your friendship. Maddie, my sweet girl! You are so loved, beyond your wildest dreams and I am so blessed and happy that I get to watch you grow up alongside of Jack. I hope you two are good friends being only six months apart.
